DIN 0815 · STANDARD SOFTWARE REV 2026.04 ● LIVE

0815software was started in Linz, Austria by engineers who had spent years building the same CRUD applications over and over — once for €0 on an open-source weekend, and again for €120,000 as a SaaS subscription. The software was identical. The business model was not.

The premise is simple: standard business software is a solved problem. Forms, tables, dashboards, checkout flows, permissions — thirty years of industry experience produced answers to all of these. We package those answers, release them under MIT, and charge only for the implementation work. The code itself is free forever.

We are a small team. We intend to stay small. The business model does not require scale — it requires good work and honest pricing.

Charge for work, not for access.

The software is free. The thing we sell is implementation, customisation, and expertise. Locking customers into licence agreements for software that cost nothing extra to copy is a business model we reject.

Build the standard thing.

Most business problems have known solutions. We implement those solutions rather than inventing new ones. "Standard" is not a pejorative — it is a promise that the thing will work, be maintainable, and outlast the hype cycle.

Ship the source with the product.

Source code is documentation. It is the ultimate specification. Handing over compiled binaries with no right to inspect is the norm in enterprise software. It should not be.

Leave customers free to leave.

The software runs on your infrastructure, is licensed under MIT, and any developer on earth can maintain it. If we fail you, you lose a vendor relationship — not a production system.
